The woman who presents herself as Alice Lagon, of Philippine nationality but recently residing in France, after a stint in a Manilla brothel, claims, currently,  to be a reseller of Hermès bags. Hermès bag resellers take advantage of the scarcity of Birkin or Kelly bags by purchasing them or having them purchased at retail price and reselling them to wealthy collectors for double the price. Although condemned by the Hermès house, which argues that this activity limits access for genuine clients, this is not illegal.

Alice Lagon claims to engage in this activity, but in reality, she uses it as a cover to defraud both suppliers and clients. From suppliers, she obtains bags that she does not pay for. From clients, she receives funds for bags that she never delivers.

Alice Lagon conducts this activity with the complicity of her son, Joshua Ryan Lagon.
